Talbott Elementary
PBIS
At TSIS, we attempt to create the best climate possible for students to learn and achieve. As a result, our behavioral expectations for students are high. We employ Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Restorative Practices to identify processes and practices that support positive behavior.
This includes the following:
- A common school-wide purpose and approach to discipline
- A small number of positively stated expectations for all students
- Procedures for teaching and re-teaching expectations
- A continuum of procedures for encouraging expected behavior (model and practice)
- Recognition and positive reinforcement for students who follow the school-wide expectations
- Ongoing evaluation of program effectiveness
